Our Mission
Charge OC is a California nonprofit connecting EV drivers to free and emergency charging options when they're low on power and far from help. We exist to make EV driving safer, easier, and more equitable — especially for drivers who rely on their car for work, errands, or medical care.
In a region with growing EV adoption and spotty charging access, we provide a crucial safety net for people in need — helping reduce range anxiety, promote clean transportation, and show what a caring community can do.
Why This Matters
Charging access is climate justice.
California leads the country in EV adoption — but many drivers still struggle to find reliable, affordable places to charge. "Range anxiety" remains one of the top barriers to going electric.
And for drivers who are older, low-income, or stranded without options, that anxiety becomes a real-world risk. We believe no one should be stuck without help just because they drive electric.
Charge OC helps bridge this gap with local resources, outreach, and partnerships — ensuring that every EV driver can find support, no matter their zip code or income level.
